B2B eCommerce Firm Moves to Wyman-Partridge Building Downtown Minneapolis To Accommodate Growth

The Star Tribune announced yesterday the results of their 2016 Top 150 Workplaces survey. Four51 is thrilled to announce that they’ve been named a Top 150 Workplace in Minnesota. The Star Tribune commissioned Workplace Dynamics to execute the survey. The survey was based around organizational health, employee satisfaction with their job, management, and the overall direction of the company.

Over the past year, Four51’s employee base has grown over 100%. Director of HR, Melissa Orenstein, was brought on staff earlier this year to help build and manage a growing pipeline of talent to continue to foster the strong sense of culture that exists at Four51. “I think talented professionals are attracted to Four51 because they see and hear from employees during the interview process that there really is a big opportunity to make a difference within a fast-paced, growth-oriented cloud-based software company,” Orenstein said. “Employees here understand that the work they are doing is truly driving the success of the organization. A lot of other companies don’t give their new employees that opportunity to dive into really meaningful work starting on day one.” Jason Rogalski, Sr. Application Services Analyst who has been with Four51 since it was founded in 1999 agreed: “You don’t feel like just a number here – you have the opportunity everyday to make a big impact.”

In order to keep top talent, Four51 knows that a modern, comfortable and inspiring working environment is vital. A move from their current office is scheduled for the weekend of June 25th with business as usual continuing on Monday, June 27th in their new office space in the Wyman-Partrige building within the warehouse district of downtown Minneapolis at 110 North 5th Street.

“To accommodate our rapidly growing workforce and to continue to further the collaborative and innovative environment we’ve built for employees, we’re moving into the Wyman-Partrige building. This move will allow us to accommodate our ongoing growth plan,” said Mark Johnson, CEO.

The new office was designed to have an industrial look and feel, including bright pops of color and very simple but modern working environments. The office, which takes up the entire floor of the building with 3,000 more square feet than their current space, features a completely open floor plan along with a variety of collaborative working spaces. Staff will experience a whole new kind of openness, moving from 25 private offices at the old space to only 6 private offices at the new space.

“We wanted to foster an open working environment for our employees, so they can easily interact and collaborate in real-time, instead of waiting to hold a meeting. We need to move fast, and the open environment we’ve created will help us do that,” Johnson said. Even the CEO himself will be participating in the open-floor plan, opting for no private office. “I want employees to walk up to my desk daily with their questions and ideas,” Johnson said. “I know that if I sit in the open area instead of in a closed office somewhere, they’ll be more likely to do that as we continue to grow.”

Additionally, there will be double the number of rooms and spaces for collaboration; a massive scrum room for agile work and development; top-of-the-line technology for communication with remote employees, partners and customers; great views of downtown Minneapolis and Target Field; a shower to support bike commuters; and an always-available office beer and beverage fridge.

OrderCloud, Four51’s API-first B2B eCommerce platform, is attracting top talent itself. Several of the new employees on staff have moved over from other software providers and implementers because they see and believe in its possibilities as a game changer in the B2B eCommerce space. Christie Ulrich who joined the Four51 team in May of this year said, “When I saw and experienced the functionality and capabilities available through OrderCloud, I knew that making the move to Four51 would mean joining the momentum of creating the best B2B eCommerce solution on the market. The management at Four51 values and truly encourages its employees to take initiative on what might seem like a crazy idea, but you would never know unless you try it. This start-up mentality paired with 17 years of experience in B2B commerce are truly contributing to our success.”
