New Custom Solution: The Fixed Footer

January 28, 2016

Have some important information for your users, but worried they won’t reach the bottom of your site? Luckily, we have a solution.

A Fixed Footer, also sometimes called a Sticky Footer, is an area of content that is anchored to the bottom of your site.

Because this area is locked in place, the content placed here is always visible regardless of how far users scroll down the page. The constant view makes the Fixed Footer a logical place to include significant content for your users to see. Some common elements placed in a Fixed Footer include:

  • Contact information
  • Logo or branding
  • Help center access
  • Terms and Conditions
  • Social media icons
  • Links to other parts of your business’ site

These types of elements are to ensure that your website is about more than just simply ordering products – you’ll encourage better engagement with your customers. Fixed areas on your site will create focal points, so use this solution if you would like to draw attention to the selected information in your footer. Your user will be able to see the information regardless of whether or not they scroll to the bottom.
